Novels
These are my favorite novels…this list is ongoing.
Love in the Driest Season by Neely Tucker
The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaleed Hosseini
Hannah Colter by Wendell Berry
Leota’s Garden, The Atonement Child, and The Scarlet Thread by Francine Rivers
The Awakening by Angela Hunt
Once An Arafat Man by Tass Saada with Dean Merrill (biography/autobiography)
Covenant Child by Terri Blackstock
The Familiar Stranger by Christina Berry
Kiss by Ted Dekker and Erin Healy
The Giver (and the prequels and sequels) by Lois Lowry–though they’re YA fiction, I really did enjoy them.
The Birthday Ball by Lois Lowry –it’s just fun. Simple and light hearted.
The Sword and The Gift by Bryan Litfin (speculative fiction)
June Bug by Chris Fabry–the back refers to it as a modern Les Mis. Set that aside and just read it as the novel it is. I had one friend who loved Les Mis (which I haven’t read) and so she was disappointed. But, this book is good and different than others I’ve read.
Resurrection in May by Lisa Samson This book reads much more like a secular fiction book, but it doesn’t go into the themes that make me uncomfortable reading secular fiction.
